1.1 Product Research and Development

Product Carbon Footprint

Following the growing global attention on carbon emissions, corporate carbon management has become a key component of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility (CSR). By analyzing product carbon footprints, businesses can gain deeper insights into greenhouse gas emissions at each stage of the product life cycle, providing a scientific basis for formulating effective carbon reduction strategies.
In response to global sustainability trends and corporate social responsibility, Youngqin International launched a product carbon footprint assessment in September 2024. The company selected My Warm Day’s popular flagship item, the “Grilled Chicken Breast Muffin with Cheese,” as the target product of assessment. Utilizing the cloud-based carbon tracking system adopted since 2022, and after six months of dedicated manpower and resource input, the company successfully obtained a Carbon Footprint Verification Statement issued by Afnor in March 2025. This certification completely discloses the greenhouse gas emissions generated throughout the product’s life cycle—from raw materials and production to transportation and sales. This not only underscores the company’s commitment to environmental impact but also aligns actively with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

This achievement marks an important first step for Youngqin International in the field of carbon management and lays a solid foundation for future product carbon footprint assessments. Moving forward, the company will continue to refine its carbon footprint management mechanisms, with plans to expand assessments to additional products, further enhancing both corporate competitiveness and the fulfillment of social responsibility.

1. Scope and Methodology of the Assessment
This carbon footprint assessment was conducted in accordance with ISO 14067:2018 standards and adopted a Cradle-to-Grave approach, covering the full product life cycle across five B-to-C stages: raw material acquisition, production, distribution, use, and end-of-life disposal. The target product, "Grilled Chicken Breast Muffin with Cheese,” was assessed across three key process stages: raw material, production, and end-of-life, as illustrated in the process flow diagram below.

2. Assessment Results
In 2023, the carbon footprint of each "Grilled Chicken Breast Muffin with Cheese" was 956 g of CO₂ equivalent, with the assessment boundary covering warehouses in the northern, central, and southern regions, as well as 25 My Warm Day directly operated stores.

The assessment results indicate that purchased electricity during the manufacturing stage accounted for the largest share of total carbon emissions. Additionally, the acquisition of raw materials, i.e. the chicken breast and cheese slice, had a significant impact on the overall carbon footprint.
3. Future Reduction Opportunities and Measures

1.3Promoting Digital Transformation

Overall planning of digital transformation

Digital transformation effectiveness
The implementation of “Smart product preparation,” “Smart workforce scheduling,” and “Automated store ordering” services not only links the core functions of managing store operations but also helps reduce operational costs and minimize food waste in the food and beverage industry. By accurately forecasting demand, optimizing the supply chain, utilizing resources efficiently, and minimizing excess inventory and overproduction, operational efficiency is enhanced, resulting in reduced costs, less waste, and improved consumer experiences. They also contribute to achieving the industry’s target of sustainable development and a green circular economy.

1.4 Strengthening Management

Youngqin International's various brands have more than 1000 stores across Taiwan. Logistics and inventory control are the keys for us to maintain good operations. To strengthen the business management of Youngqin International, the company has set the following goals for product warehousing management and electronic franchise contracts. It is hoped that through these goals and actions, we can advance on the path to sustainable development.

Efficient management to improve commodity inventory turnover rate
To further enhance warehouse management efficiency, Youngqin International set short-term targets for product inventory turnover rate and logistics out-of-stock rate in 2024. The company achieved an average inventory turnover of 2.22 times per week and a logistics out-of-stock rate of 77 PPM, successfully meeting the targets set in 2023. For 2024, the short-term plan includes adjusting procurement volumes in response to seasonal demand and managing inventory through a dedicated stock control system. In the medium to long term, a second warehouse in the northern region is planned to be built to improve material turnover capacity. For the inventory turnover targets by region: Short-term: maintain 2.2 times per week; Mid-term: reach 2.4 times per week; Long-term: aim for 2.5 times per week. The out-of-stock rate targets are: short-term 200 PPM, mid-term 180 PPM, and long-term 150 PPM.

Digital management to increase the proportion of electronic franchise contracts
Digital management and process optimization can greatly reduce paper waste, avoid renewing outdated contracts, and eliminate the time-consuming printing process. This allows supervisors and business personnel to focus more on assisting franchisees with store operations and strengthening the brand power of the company's brands. By increasing the proportion of electronic franchise contracts, we can shorten the operating process, and effectively control and achieve environmental benefits through paperless operations. The construction and testing of the online system were completed in 2023, and the integrated planning with the electronic signing platform for the next phase was also finished. New contract signings and contract renewal operations in the overseas (Indonesian region) have completed the initial testing and implementation of electronic contract signing and the use of digital signing will be officially launched in 2024.
The company is actively advancing its digital transformation. In 2024, through a digital renewal mechanism integrated with the legal contract management system, My Warm Day successfully completed contract renewals for 268 stores. As of now, the digital renewal conversion rate for My Warm Day has reached 53%, with the goal of achieving 100% digital renewal across all My Warm Day stores by Q2 2025.
In addition, Fried Chicken Master's online renewal process will officially launch in 2025, with 40 store renewals expected to be completed by the end of the year. That same year, MWD will also introduce a new digital franchise agreement signing model, aiming for 10% of new contracts to be completed online, while Fried Chicken Master is targeting a 5% online signing rate. Both new contracts and renewals will be accompanied by enhanced operational management measures, such as POS equipment leasing, fire insurance, and third-party liability insurance, to strengthen cooperation with franchisees and improve management efficiency. Furthermore, digital contract signing will be extended to procurement and brand contract management, helping to mitigate the risks associated with automatic renewals using traditional procurement agreements. This can also streamline repetitive brand-related contracts, thereby reducing administrative workload across units and increasing operational efficiency.

2. Food Safety Management

2.1Assurance of Food Safety

As a regulated operator in the food industry (importers, retailers, and caterers), in order to implement HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and conduct self-inspection and prevent the potential risks hidden in food products, a food safety inspection program is established and the "Food Safety Team" and "Laboratory for self-inspection" are developed. Eventually, we ensure "food safety" for every consumer.
To improve health and safety impacts, the percentage of major product and service categories evaluated by Youngqin International reaches 100% and there are no products that are in the "to be improved" category due to the effect of food safety incidents

Food safety has always been one of the most important issues for the public. With the rise of food safety awareness in recent years, consumers' requirements for quality have increased significantly. Youngqin International continues to strictly control the products from the source through raw material and product acceptance. In 2024, as a measure to prevent food safety incidents, the company conducted monthly sampling and testing of 6 procured products as the inspection of raw materials from suppliers. Annual testing was conducted for preservatives in 15 products, and 5 batches of imported black tea were also tested. Additionally, 6 export and specialty products were subjected to testing. Furthermore, 15 samples of raw materials and meals were randomly tested monthly from stores (including franchise stores). The sampling ratio of testing for raw materials accounts for approximately 100%.
Each brand has also implemented sampling inspections for high-risk products and established testing frequencies to prevent food safety incidents. The primary items include veterinary drug residues, Escherichia coli, mold, heavy metals or food ingredients. Youngqin International conducts a three-level inventory of all brands' products (including those from suppliers, Youngqin International, and stores). It summarizes the trade names in the traceability system and includes the address and other details of the GUI for inventory purposes. This ensures confirmation of any potential border risks, and whether relevant domestic testing reports are obtained.

1.Independent testing laboratory:
Youngqin International Food Safety Laboratory is a nationally certified laboratory that operates by the regulation of the "Food Safety Monitoring Plan" established by Youngqin International. The inspection scope includes the procurements for various brands and meals. Regarding the testing items related to raw materials, the testing method has passed CNS certification, and laboratory personnel regularly participate in relevant training to maintain their testing capabilities. The company's short-term goal is to continue to improve laboratory testing equipment to respond to the ever-changing food safety risks.
In 2025, the company plans to conduct sampling and testing of 10 procured products per month as the inspection of raw materials from suppliers. Annual testing was conducted for preservatives in 18 products, and 4 batches of imported black tea were also tested. Additionally, 6 export and specialty products were subjected to testing. Furthermore, 17 samples of raw materials and meals were randomly tested monthly from stores (including franchise stores). The target is that the passing rate of internal inspection and external inspection are both 100%.
Random testing plans are designated for high-risk products across various brands to avoid food safety incidents. The main testing items include pesticides for agricultural products and animals, E. coli, mold, and heavy metals. The testing results are reviewed at monthly KPI meetings and uploaded to the Food and Drug Administration's food traceability system.

2.Sampling inspection during product acceptance
(1) Inspection batch: Each item in each shipment is treated as a separate inspection batch.
(2) Inspection method: Random sampling is conducted based on the number of samples of different categories (Eg. frozen, refrigerated, dry goods, commodities, equipment, instruments). If the number of inspection batches is less than the number of samples, all of the batches will be inspected.
(3) Inspection frequency: The frequency of sampling inspections is based on the risk classification of quality variation (key commodities, other foods, packaging, instruments). Incoming goods from regulated manufacturers (abnormal quality): Products are inspected upon arrival. Regulations can be relaxed only when quality assurance personnel approve the sampling inspection (three consecutive normal deliveries). After that, sampling inspections will be carried out at normal frequencies.
3.Laboratory products are classified by their sales and are randomly selected for testing. Testing on microbes or pesticides and medicines for animals are conducted:
All incoming products undergo 100% inspection upon delivery. Products contributing to 80% of gross profit receive enhanced laboratory testing. These enhanced inspections are categorized into four major groups: Category A: Top 20 in sales / Category B: Top 20-40 in sales and so on. Ten items are sampled each month. If any product exceeds the acceptable limits, it will be returned. The next batch will only be accepted if it passes inspection.

The company also conducts an annual sampling inspection plan for products, including self inspection and random sampling of incoming products for third-party inspection. The short term plan is to sample 10 items annually for third-party testing of preservatives, while the medium- and long-term plan is to increase the frequency of self-inspections by the laboratory to 70 items per month. Corresponding action plans will be implemented to maintain the company's overall product quality.

4.Store hygiene sampling and testing, with retesting conducted for failed cases. 15 stores (both company-owned and franchised) from each category of a-d are sampled and tested.

All testing results must be documented on the "Record sheet for testing results" and reviewed by the quality assurance supervisor on a monthly basis. If necessary, testing reports may be prepared for specific items and could be issued only after being signed by the quality assurance supervisor and stamped with the laboratory seal, passing the approval process of the company. The testing results should be included in the KPI meeting reports and provided to the authority units for improvement suggestions.

5.Test sampling items of all brands
The raw ingredients of each brand and purchased goods and meals are randomly tested for E. coli and agricultural and animal drugs, with a rapid screening of 10 items every month to prevent food safety incidents. The testing results are evaluated based on the microbiological testing standards announced by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to determine whether they pass the requirements.

Youngqin International strictly controls the quality of its products and has set up a food safety laboratory in accordance with statutory requirements. Multiple tests are conducted using precision instruments, and the status of testing in 2024 is as follows:

In addition to random testing of raw ingredients and products, Youngqin International also hopes to increase the number of products that have obtained third-party verification standards year by year. When looking for new partners in the future, we will give priority to suppliers that have obtained ISO 22000 and HACCP certification. For the top 20 manufacturers (70% of transaction amount) tributing to existing products, it is expected that, in the short term, these manufacturers will gradually be required to obtain ISO 22000 and HACCP certification. The medium- to long-term plan aims to expand the pool of accredited suppliers, focusing on the top 50 suppliers by product contribution (accounting for 80% of total transaction value) and requiring them to obtain relevant certifications.
In 2024 the status of the company's food safety management systems in compliance with international accreditation after being verified by an independent third party is as follows:

2.2 Food Safety Education and Training

The company complies with government regulations to implement internal education and training on food safety, and also strengthens training, advocacy, and auditing for franchisees. In order to enhance food hygiene, safety, and quality, the company conducts assessments and improvement measures in various aspects including working personnel, operational premises, facility hygiene management, and quality assurance systems
The implementation status of the company in 2024 is as follows

As arranged by the Education and Training Center, the Quality Assurance Department requires supervisors and managers of company-owned stores to undergo 1 hour of education and training on a quarterly basis
The implementation status by the company in 2024 is as follows:

3.Sustainable Supply Chain Management

3.1 Regulations of supplier management

Regulations of supplier management
Managing and guiding the supply chain has always been a priority topic for the company. Product requirements of the company can be achieved through continuous communication with suppliers, improvements in the materials of suppliers, and enhancement in production processes. The Procurement Department and Quality Assurance Department also conduct new supplier audits and annual visits to existing suppliers to ensure compliance with relevant standards and annual plans. The procurement unit relies on the manufacturer's quality management system or product verification, such as HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, CAS and inspects the supplier's legal licenses, such as factory registration certificate and business registration certificate to evaluate whether the manufacturer meets the requirements; Other supplier evaluation items are based on the following:

Regulations of supplier management
New suppliers are evaluated by the Procurement Department and the Quality Assurance Department, considering aspects such as the supplier's environmental processes, quality, equipment, management, and supply capabilities. The average evaluation score from both departments must be above 85 points for the supplier to be deemed qualified. Existing suppliers are subject to on-site inspections according to the annual audit plan. If the evaluation score of on-site inspection from either the Procurement Department or the Quality Assurance Department falls below 70 points, the supplier is required to make improvements within a specified timeframe, and another on-site visit re-evaluation is required to be scheduled within 3 months. In 2023, existing suppliers were visited and inspected a total of 48 times. Among them, 43 suppliers had evaluation scores of 90 points or above, while 1 supplier was required to make improvements within a certain timeframe. This supplier made the necessary improvements within the timeframe and submitted a report. The Quality Assurance Department and the Procurement Department conducted another on-site visit to ensure that the standards had been met. In 2024, existing suppliers were visited and inspected a total of 61 times. Among them, 44suppliers had evaluation scores of 90 points or above, while 1 supplier was required to make improvements within a certain timeframe. The Quality Assurance Department and the Procurement Department conducted another on-site visit to ensure that the standards had been met.

Starting in 2025, Youngqin will incorporate sustainability-related assessments into its existing supplier evaluations. The evaluation will encompass social and environmental aspects, as well as the overall ESG performance of suppliers, with the aim of fostering a sustainable environment in collaboration with our suppliers.

Screening of New and Existing Suppliers
In 2024, the company collaborated with a total of 324 suppliers, all of whom passed the social criteria. These criteria include compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, labor and human rights laws, and the signing of the "Supplier Code of Conduct for Corporate Social Responsibility." For suppliers that are required to hold environmental or food-related certifications, compliance with both social and environmental standards is necessary. Of the 324 suppliers in 2024, 148 suppliers were subject to environmental evaluations. Environmental criteria require suppliers to provide food safety certifications (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000), ensure that materials used do not pose environmental hazards, and demonstrate proper monitoring and treatment of wastewater and waste generated during production. In addition, suppliers must implement pollution prevention, waste reduction, and energy-saving measures. New suppliers must first pass the supplier selection process. In 2024, 61 new suppliers that passed the social responsibility criteria were added, while the number of suppliers passing the environmental criteria remained unchanged at 148.

Signing status of "Supplier Corporate Social Responsibility Code of Conduct"
The company is committed to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility and fostering mutual growth with suppliers. In 2022, the "Supplier Corporate Social Responsibility Code of Conduct" was included as one of the evaluation criteria, and this code includes the company's communication with suppliers on anti-corruption policies. The company actively assisted suppliers in establishing systems related to environmental protection, labor rights, health and safety, and ethical standards. In 2024, a total of 148 suppliers had signed the "Supplier Code of Conduct for Corporate Social Responsibility", accounting for 45.67% of all suppliers. Youngqin International looks forward to continuing its collaboration with suppliers to emphasize environmental sustainability and human rights issues.

Suppliers implement food safety control system (HACCP)/food supply chain hygiene management (GHP) principle audits
To ensure that suppliers implement their commitment to food safety and sustainable development in daily operations, Youngqin International has designed an on-site audit form that aligns with HACCP/GHP principles and random on-site inspections are conducted by the headquarters. The audit items include but are not limited to raw materials management, production processes, storage of semi-finished products, logistics and distribution. wait. The short-term goal is to prioritize the implementation of HACCP principles audits on the top 10 suppliers, and expand the implementation to the top 20 suppliers in the medium and long term.
Supplier evaluation results
The grading of annual supplier performance evaluations is based on three criteria: quality, delivery time, and service. In 2024, there were a total of 324 suppliers that the company had transactions with (With a passing rate of 100% in evaluations). Among them, 226 suppliers (69.75%) were rated as "Excellent" (Grade A), 54 suppliers (16.67%) were rated as "Good" (Grade B), 27 suppliers (8.33%) were rated as "Satisfactory" (Grade C), and 17 suppliers (5.24%) were rated as "Poor" (Grade D), there were no suppliers rated as "Discontinued" (Grade E). Youngqin International conducts consultation and replacement evaluations annually to suppliers. Priority is given to Grade A and Grade B suppliers when purchasing new products. We maintain the current procurement status with Grade C suppliers while new products are not actively developed. Grade C suppliers are required to continuously improve and enhance their performance every year. Youngqin International will launch a consultation and replacement assessment mechanism for unqualified manufacturers. We will not increase transaction items and amounts before improvements are made. We will expand cooperation with them after they make improvements.
The Procurement Department, together with the Quality Assurance Department, continues to conduct on-site factory visits and evaluations of suppliers in cooperation. They guide the manufacturers to fulfill production environment and quality requirements. During this period, we make progress and grow together, hoping to provide more stable products that meet specifications and reduce the number of Grade C manufacturers, while increasing the number of Grade A/B manufacturers. In 2024, 61 suppliers were visited and audited (With a passing rate of 98.36%), with 1 supplier required to make improvements within a certain timeframe. This supplier made the necessary improvements within the timeframe and submitted a report. The Quality Assurance Department and the Procurement Department conducted another on-site visit to ensure that the standards had been met. Youngqin International will continue to improve the effectiveness of supplier audits, with the goal of no Grade D manufacturers. We also assess the coachability of Grade C manufacturers, and guide and assist the suppliers to better meet the company's requirements to strengthen daily operations and improve supplier audit rating.

Product inspection
Establishing a product inspection report system for manufacturers
The safety of "food" has always been a matter of great concern to people in our country. In order to ensure consumer food safety, the company has established a product procurement grading system since 2018, which takes into account factors such as product characteristics, procurement cycle, and procurement quantity. We also require regular submission of relevant inspection data during the procurement process and conduct internal testing in the company's quality assurance laboratory. Periodically, the products are sent to third-party impartial organizations for testing to ensure the safety and hygiene of the food. Our goal is to effectively reduce the risk coefficient of food safety through systematic management.
The Procurement Department gathers statistics on the quantity and monetary value of procured products of the last fiscal year. Products are classified into 4 tiers: A, B, C, and D. Suppliers are required to regularly provide self-inspection reports or third-party inspection reports for their products based on these tiers. These reports have to be approved by our Quality Assurance Department to ensure the quality of the products.

3.2 Product Tracking and Tracing

Youngqin International has been committed to maintaining customer food safety and improving independent food hygiene management. We conduct food traceability management to ensure clear sources of goods and raw ingredients from suppliers, and we continue to enhance our management practices. In 2023, 100% of all products are traceable in accordance with the regulations of the Food and Drug Administration. To ensure that the company complies with all laws and regulations regarding food safety, purchased goods will be integrated into the food traceability system. Additionally, employees' understanding of food safety concepts will be strengthened. Food safety education and training will be conducted semiannually for supervisors and staff of directly owned stores and will be listed as the priority training course of the year.

Establishing a tracing mechanism for imported products
Regarding the system establishment for food safety, the company always aims to start its management from the sources. This includes supplier management, documentation of raw material specifications and basic information, and progressively implementing a tracing mechanism for procured and delivered goods, thus increasing competitiveness in product management. Establishment of product management systems.

Responsible procurement
Youngqin International is dedicated to responsible procurement and gives priority to using certified ingredients and agricultural and livestock products (eg: CAS standards, products with traceability records). In addition, the eggs used currently comply with the Food and Drug Administration's "Standards for veterinary drug used in fresh eggs", and the pork procured is 100% crate-free.
The whole chicken breast used in My Warm Day's menu is supplied by Super Qin Group, with every chicken slaughtered coming from carefully selected poultry houses with cooling pads. Unlike traditional poultry farms, these facilities are designed with controlled temperature, humidity, and good ventilation, utilizing water-curtain walls and high-efficiency fans to create a naturally cooled environment. This comfortable and low-pathogen setting significantly reduces the risk of disease, improving the chickens'health and immunity. As a result, the meat is more tender, safe, and tasty.

Local procurements
Yangqin International supports Taiwan's agricultural, livestock and animal husbandry processing industries and promotes local food ingredients, increasing employment opportunities in Taiwan and revitalizing rural society; purchasing local food ingredients in Taiwan and effectively reducing carbon emissions from transportation.
My Warm Day and Fried Chicken Master are dedicated to promoting local ingredients and supporting local agriculture, including domestically raised chicken, pork, white rice, and vegetables. The basil used in our pesto sauce is grown in Yunlin County. Since 2015, My Warm Day has exclusively used Tainan's No. 11 Rice, and Fried Chicken Master has used Taiken No. 9 Rice, with a total procurement of approximately 2,667 tons of Taiwanese rice as of 2024. MWD and Fried Chicken Master promote quality proteins through meal design, with 80% of their chicken products using locally sourced and contract-raised Taiwanese chicken. In 2020, we began collaborating with the local Taiwanese brand "K. K. Orchard," introducing Taiwan's locally farmed No. 57 (yellow) sweet potatoes into our brunch menu series, and started selling them in all My Warm Day stores in March 2021. In 2024, the total amount of procurement was 251.5 thousand kilograms, with a planting area of approximately 5.32 hectares, marking an annual growth of 31%.
REAL.Café.Bread continues to innovate and develop new products every year, incorporating local and special agricultural products into European-style handcrafted bakeries. This not only promotes local agriculture but also reduces the carbon footprint associated with product transportation. Since 2018, we have been introducing a project called "Strawberry Season" annually where we procure strawberries from local farmers in Dahu, Miaoli.

In 2023, our new brand Shuan Jin Shabu Shabu pioneered in introducing all vegetable products with traceable origins. We cooperate with the Gongguan Farmers' Association in Miaoli to provide taro products and introduce local organic ingredients for our mushroom products. We use domestically raised chicken and pork and deepen the cooperation with local industry chains. Achievement of 2024 is 75% .
the short-term goal is to achieve a ratio of 75% traceable ingredients, while the medium- to long-term goals are to reach 80%. We have also applied to join the “Traceability Restaurant Movement."
Cooperative plans with local farmers
To promote and support local agriculture, Youngqin has been directly procuring Hegang pomelos from farmers in Ruisui, Hualien for over ten years. Through the My Warm Day store sales network, the best local pomelos in Taiwan can be delivered to consumers directly. Collaborating with local small farmers not only eliminates price negotiations from Intermediaries but also allows consumers to enjoy high-quality Taiwanese agricultural products at affordable prices. This creates a win-win situation for both small farmers and consumers.

Promoting quality proteins
In order to provide customers with higher-quality meals, My Warm Day has always made efforts to seek out and develop premium ingredients to prepare its dishes. Since 2017, we have been primarily promoting chicken-based products, with a focus on using high-quality, whole cuts of meat. Our aim is to minimize the need for processing through the use of real food, ultimately offering customers a healthier dining experience.
The percentage of chicken sales increased from 63.65% in 2019 to 72.57% in 2024. The total procurement quantity also experienced a year-on-year growth of over 1.3%.
Promoting a green diet plan
Youngqin International currently owns four brands. Upholding the spirit of sustainable development, each brand hopes to provide consumers with healthier and more environmentally friendly meal options and help consumers practice a net-zero green life in their daily diet. To this end, Youngqin International has formulated the following goals and action plans and will continue to track the implementation progress of various plans in the future, expecting to contribute to environmental protection.

4.Customer Relations Management

4.1 Customer Satisfaction
